Louise Middleton RGN Diploma in CHD
Cath and Louise are both registered nurses who work in close association with
the doctors as part of our practice team. They have specialist training in long-term
health problems enabling patients to achieve a healthy lifestyle. Special interests
include asthma, diabetes, heart disease prevention, women's health, men's health
and travel advice.

The community nurses provide nursing care to those patients at home who are
housebound and unable to attend the surgery. They are highly trained and give
nursing advice to the doctors and patients. They can be contacted directly by

Yvonne Dewar
Yvonne is a registered nurse with extra training in public health and family
health with a particular emphasis on child development. She sees all new babies
at home once discharged from the midwife and then maintains contact with the
family as required. She can be contacted on 01738 813722.
Community Midwives
Community midwives attend women before and after their babies are born, at
home or in clinics and classes. They act as a link between the hospital midwifery
unit and our practice. If you wish to contact a midwife about any problems please
use the following numbers:
For URGENT matters please telephone 01738 473425. This is manned 24 hours a day
and is the labour ward main line at Perth Road Infirmary.
For NON-URGENT matters please telephone 01738 473406 and leave a message. This
is an answering machine and the midwife will call you back.
If your baby has a FEEDING PROBLEM please telephone 01738 473436 and leave a
message. This is manned 24 hours a day and is the Red Team postnatal ward at
Perth Royal Infirmary.
Macmillan Nurses
Macmillan Nurses work alongside doctors, nurses and other professionals to
meet the needs of patients suffering from cancer. They help the patients and
their carers receive the best quality of life. Requests for a Macmillan nurse
should be made via your doctor or other medical professional.
Medical And Nursing Students
Medical and nursing students attend the practice from time to time. We hope
that you will co-operate with us and help the students to learn about general
practice. However, you will be informed of their presence in advance, and if
you do not want them to be present at a consultation, your wishes will be respected.
This will not affect your treatment in any way.
Locum Doctors
Infrequently, the practice employs locum doctors. The qualifications of these
doctors are fully scruntinised and the practice generally employ locums who have
had an association with the practice or are known to them.
